Postdoc and graduate student positions in Biomedical Imaging
The TRUE lab invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position AND multiple Graduate Assistantships in Biomedical Imaging and Medical Physics. The TRUE (Theranostics with Radiation-induced Ultrasound Emission) lab focuses on the development of ultrasound-based imaging techniques with new contrast mechanisms including laser-induced photoacoustic tomography (PAT), X-ray acoustic computed tomography (XACT), Proton acoustic tomography (pCT) and other radiation induced acoustic emission for imaging and therapy. We are located at School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Oklahoma. We work closely with The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, and with the Radiation Oncology Department at Stanford University. We offer an exceptional environment for scholars who want to further their skills, and many opportunities to engage in cutting-edge research.
Desirable applicants for the Postdoc position should have a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. Candidates who have a strong background in optics, X-rays, pulsed electric field, proton radiation or ultrasonics are highly encouraged to apply. Your postdoc experience should be a crucial step that prepares you towards your future independent career, and we will make our best effort to pave your way, to be highly productive doing science, to offer you career advice, to give you various opportunities such as supervising students, getting involved in grant writing and teaching, and helping you build your own reputation in the scientific community.
Desirable applicants for Graduate Assistantship should have BS or above degrees in Engineering, Physics, or other related fields, and strong motivation to do high quality research in novel biomedical imaging modalities, especially medical instrumentation. Previous research experiences in related fields and scientific publications in journals/conferences are preferred. Eligible students are encouraged to apply for external funding from sources like NIH, NSF and DOD.
Visiting Scholar/student Positions are also available. Candidates who currently have external funding will be given extra consideration.
The positions are available immediately and will remain open until filled. Interested candidates should send a cover letter describing your research interests, CV, and contact information of 3 professional references to Dr. Liangzhong Xiang at xianglzh@stanford.edu.
